Built a comprehensive content automation system using n8n. The workflow performs SEO research via DataForSEO API, scrapes top 10 ranking blogs with Apify for competitor analysis, generates detailed content briefs with AI, then drafts complete blog articles with AI-generated images and publishes directly to WordPress.

The problem

The client wanted to publish 4+ SEO-optimized blog posts per week but lacked the team to handle the research, writing, and publishing pipeline. Hiring writers was expensive and the content still needed SEO expertise, competitor analysis, and proper formatting before it could rank.

How it works

  1. 01DataForSEO API fetches related keywords, search volumes, and difficulty scores
  2. 02Custom scoring system prioritizes high-value keywords and organizes them in Google Sheets
  3. 03Apify scrapes the top 10 ranking blogs for each target keyword
  4. 04AI analyzes competitors to identify content gaps, tone, and structure patterns
  5. 05AI generates a detailed content brief — meta title, descriptions, H2/H3 outline, CTAs
  6. 06Full blog article is drafted with proper HTML formatting
  7. 07AI generates matching images for the post
  8. 08Finished article is published directly to WordPress via API
