Automated Stripe Payment & Invoicing /Real Project

Finds or creates the Stripe customer and sends the invoice

Developed a seamless Zapier automation to streamline Stripe payments and invoicing. The system automatically detects whether a customer already exists in Stripe. If found, it generates an invoice; if not, it creates a new customer before processing the payment. Additionally integrates with Keygen to fetch software purchase details, ensuring accurate transaction handling.

The problem

The client was manually creating Stripe invoices for every new customer and software license purchase. Existing customers were being duplicated, payments were delayed, and the team spent hours each week on repetitive billing tasks that should have been automated.

How it works

  1. 01New purchase triggers the Zapier workflow via webhook
  2. 02System checks Stripe for existing customer by email
  3. 03If customer exists → generate invoice immediately
  4. 04If new customer → create Stripe customer record first
  5. 05Pull license details from Keygen API automatically
  6. 06Invoice sent to customer — zero manual steps

What I built

Built a Zapier automation that detects whether a customer already exists in Stripe before processing. If found, it generates an invoice directly. If not, it creates the customer first, then processes payment. Integrated with Keygen to pull software license details automatically — ensuring every transaction is accurate without manual data entry.
